More and more people talk about Tech & Fashion, although usually it involves a startup that sells fashion items online.  LA Fashion Week reunited a different level of fashion-tech collaboration, between independent fashion designer Camelia Skikos and Fyusion, Inc., a startup that creates spatial photographs, using 3-D processing algorithms, co-founded by robotics specialist Radu Rusu. Both are based (where else?..) in San Francisco, California.

Mikko Järvenpää is the COO of the Latvian startup Infogram, and founder and CEO of  Vuact.

Culture Anecdote: Mikko is from Finland but he is the COO of a Latvian startup (Infogram).
"There are two very different cultures", said Mikko. "Often I say 'I'm from Finland' and people react with a big smile 'Oh, yes, I know, I went to Denmark once'. Nothing to do one with the other. It's as if someone tells me 'I'm from United States' and I would answer 'Oh, yes, I've been to Mexico once."

Session 6 of the European Innovation and Entrepreneurship series organized at Stanford by Dr. Burton Lee brought two more European countries: Slovakia and Latvia. 
Matej Ftacnik is the CEO of iNOVA Sys and co-Founder of The Spot, a creative space for entrepreneurs and startups in Bratislava, Slovakia. 
As usually, I will look at the Culture Metrics for the two countries and compare them with the U.S. Culture Metrics. My intention is to create more awareness about why European (or Latin American) countries cannot --and basicallyshould not waste their time trying to-- transplant the Silicon Valley model. What they can do though, is to create an adapted, culturally intelligent model, which might have very little in common with Silicon Valley.
